Flower Shoppe

Today I made a goal to play with Flower Shoppe. I was having so much fun creating that I kept making flowers. And I have to need to thank Cricutblog.org and Michele Kovack for the inspiration! Once I figured out the system of flower cuts, I could not stop. I think friends will be getting a lot of flower cards from me soon!
Another shout out about a new paper line I found in my Noel Mignon - Bees Knees kit last month. Melody Ross -Soul Food Collection. This designer paper has the feel of fabric! Even my 17 year old son kept feeling it. :)

Road Trip from CHA Calling Card (luggage tag)

How exciting when you find the perfect die cut for the perfect theme! This is how I felt when I realized that there were luggage tags on one of my many favorite cartridges...Destinations. I cut out the tag using Vintage Damask at 3.0. The phrase "road trip" was embossed and cut from Pack Your Bags.

Road Trip Magnets

When Shannon asked we what I wanted to swap for this event, my first thought was magnets. I love collecting magnets from the places my family has visited or had been assigned while in the Air Force. And even though our kitchens have changed from our many moves, the magnets always seem to begin a conversation that starts off with "remember when we..." And yes, they are on my frig door.
I knew this new idea would also push everyone's creative buttons. And I am looking forward to what everyone has to done with their ideas and creative energy. I decided to make a magnet that reflected me. I love dragonflies and summer! And when I look at my magnet, it will remind me of summer when a lot of friends, familiar and new, came to Ohio to play.
Ingredients -
Imagine cartridge - Lori's Garden
Home Decor cartridge - dragonfly 3.0
Lilly pad cut from basic shapes from the Imagine
Glossy Accents and pop dots

Happy Valentine's Day Hubby

I decided to make a "man" looking Valentine for my husband using Jolie Chocolate from SEI and one of the many neat medallions from French Manor. The paper and the cartridge spoke to each other and I can see many other ideas using these two again.

I liked this card for its clean lines and simple class.

Happy Birthday using Better Together

I played with this graphic for a couple of days and could not find just the right look. After playing with the edging, I decided I liked the pink for a girly girl look. I used a shape from the Imagine for the card face. I layered both packages using pop adhesive for 3-D look and added some I-Rock bling that just matched so well.
Happy Birthday Donna!

Valentine's Day Treat Bags

This weekend I have been thinking of all the things that are taking place in February. Next weekend is my hubby's birthday, Valentine's Day and a Cricut Meet in Indiana. For all of these events my main thought is what can I create to make someones day special.

So today I jumped the gun and made Valentine's Treat Bags for the teachers on my team and staff that I work with daily that are very special to me. And even though it is not yet Valentine's Day, I thought they could start their week off with some chocolate.

For this project I used the Imagine and Better Together Cartridge. This machine is so wonderful for mass producing many items at one time. Very easy with little time involved once patterns are selected. Beware that test tasting the chocolate can lead to some bags having less than others.

  • Tag was cut at 4.1 / 4/1 and then folded in half. It actually made enough for two treat bags. I used the shapes that come with the Imagine. Love, love all the options it has. I just filled it in with the print background that fit the birds.

  • Birds with heart cut at 1.5 / 1.5 - I did not change the colors on this graphic.

  • Used 4.5 by 6 clear treat bags and folded the top once candy was inside.

  • Adhered the tag with a lip folded over the back and ribbon whole punched.

  • Use pop dots to add the birds to the center.

Paper Lace Valentine Treat Gift

One of my many goals is to use all the carts that I just had to "have". I made this treat holder is from Paper Lace's booklet. I changed the color patter to fit with Valentine's Day. The holder is a tissue tube filled with goodies. Then I wrapped with white gifting tissue paper and glued to the tube. Next I explored the many lace wraps that this cartridge has to offer. I was surprised by the variety of details each one offered. I followed the directions in the booklet for the cut sizes suggested. Next, I used the same cart to make the tag from two cuts. The paper I used was from one of my favorite addictions...SEI.

Cricut Circle Calling Cards

One of the many joys of being able to attend the Cricut Circle events is getting meet so many people that share the same if not similar enjoyments as me. Since joining, I have only been one event and collected so many calling cards and did not get the chance to meet very many of the creative ladies that made them. However, I did collect two new friends. (Hi Shannon and Kris).

In the next few weeks I am excited to attend several Circle events, Indiana and Texas. I am not sure if the calling card is to change per event attending, but it makes another usage of those cartridges that I had to have.

Here are my two new calling cards. Yea, I am happy to announce in case my hubby sees this that I was able to use three carts, no new paper and only spent $3.88 on eyelets.
